So sorry I haven't updated in a while, I've been super busy with moving and college applications.
Anyways, this past weekend I attended the National PDO with 60 other YES Abroad finalists. Here's a summed up schedule:
Thursday -
Everyone arrived at Dulles Intl Airport or Union Station
Dinner
Opening session
Friday -
Embassy visits to our specific countries
U.S. Department of State visit
Walking around DC! (Lincoln Memorial, Capital Building, etc)
FUTURE FEMALE FINALISTS I'M WARNING U DONT WEAR HEELS.
Saturday -
Allll day meetings concerinng our host family, religions and situations we might encounter abroad, and health/safety issues
Breaks for lunch and dinner
Finished off our last night with the alumni panel
Sunday Morning -
Breakfast
Saying goodbye to everyone :( since each country is departing the US and coming back to the US on different days, we all realized that we might not see some of each other again. Personally, that was a difficult thing for me to be okay with because I love my fellow YES Abroaders. The kindest and funniest people I have ever met in my life. If any of you are reading this, I hope you have a safe flight and enjoy your year in Thailand, India, Malaysia, Oman, Indonesia, Bosnia, Macedonia, Morocco, Senegal, Turkey or Ghana.
